Today, in the Italian Parliament Olga Karach, the director of the Belarusian human rights defender and director of the Lithuania-based organisation “Nash Dom” (Our Home), will be awarded the prestigious Alexander Langer Prize for Human Rights Defenders and Peacebuilders. This prize was also awarded a few years ago to Iranian human rights defender Nargiz Mohammadi, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023.
Olga Karach has also been nominated for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize.
After the presentation of the Alexander Langer Prize, Olga Karach will tour Italian cities to meet human rights activists, journalists and politicians.
