Since the beginning of our cooperation with the non-governmental organization Maisto Bankas in the May of 2022, our joint activity has benefited a lot Belarusian refugees living in the Lithuanian capital. Known for the mission based on the idea of rational consumption and distribution of food and doing its best to provide help to people in need, Maisto Bankas has made a significant contribution into improving lives of people in difficult situation by supplying them with free grocery goods.

Every week on Thursdays, and sometimes on additional week days, Maisto Bankas provides Belarusian refugees in Vilnius with from 150 to 350 kilos of free grocery products. The organization aspires to save every product of good quality from being thrown away and to make sure it is given to those in need instead. Also, Maisto Bankas promotes responsible consumption of groceries, rational nutrition and efficient use of resources.

Since the start of the current year, Maisto Bankas has supplied Belarusian refugees in Vilnius with an astonishing amount of food products – 15890 kilos! All the groceries were distributed among 186 families consisting of from 1 to 7 persons. It means that over 440 people received the groceries they needed thanks to the Maisto Bankas’s support.

Cooperation with Maisto Bankas not only provides food to Belarusian refugees, but also clearly demonstrates the importance of support and solidarity in difficult times. It is an example of how non-governmental organizations and local communities can unite to help people in a vulnerable situation.

Our cooperation with Maisto Bankas continues to develop, and we hope to keep on our effort and give help and hope to all the people who need them.
